Shantel's Dance Academy was established by Shantel Robeaux in 1999 with one dance room, and combination office/waiting room. From the start, Ms. Shantel had a vision of providing a quality dance education as well as instilling morals, values, and confidence that would last a lifetime.

As the studio began to grow, Ms. Shantel added a 2nd dance room in 2002 to accommodate more dancers. The second studio was great but Ms. Shantel still wanted more for her dancers. She dreamed of a beautiful space that was equipped with sprung floors, a beautiful reception area, spacious viewing areas, and plenty of parking to accommodate the growing studio. In 2008 a brand new strip mall was being built in Belle Chasse. Ms. Shantel had always envisioned a studio that was growing with the times, and thought the new strip mall was a perfect location for the updated studio.

Over the next few years the student enrollment and faculty continued to grow. Ms. Shantel felt the need to add a 3rd dance room to offer new classes to broaden the dancers experience. The addition of the 3rd dance room started in November 2015. To much excitement, new classes were added in the new space for January 2016.

In March 2018, Ms. Shantel purchased a large commercial location to remodel in anticipation of the school’s future growth. This new location will accommodate the expansion of new dance classes, classes for children with special needs, a performing arts program and music lessons. This new location along with this expansion is a dream come true for Ms. Shantel. Her dream has always been to reach as many children as possible and share her passion for the arts.

Shantel's Dance Academy has had many changes over the years, but the values have stayed the same and are an important aspect in all classes. Age appropriate music and costuming have always been a staple at Shantel's Dance Academy. Shantel's Dance Academy is more than just a dancing school. It is always a goal to inspire each student to flourish, both in dance and in life.
